The much-loved Sandy Creek Pig Races return this December, bringing another year of laughs, live music, and local generosity, all in support of Variety, the Children’s Charity.
Hosted at the iconic Sandy Creek Pub, just ten minutes from Warwick, the event has become a favourite on the community calendar. It is one of those great Queensland days where everyone comes together, families, friends, and tradies, for good food, cold drinks, and plenty of fun, all while raising funds for a cause that truly makes a difference.
Blue Dog Training is proud to once again sponsor the Variety Bash Car 350 team, long-time organisers of the Sandy Creek Pig Races and tireless champions for kids and families across the state. The team has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars over the years, and this annual event continues to be one of their biggest fundraisers.
For Blue Dog, the connection runs deep. Many of the apprentices and employers we work with are based in and around Warwick, so being part of this day feels like catching up with mates and giving back to the communities that back us year-round.
If you have never been, it is one of those classic country events you will remember long after the day is done. There will be:
Raffles, auctions, and sweeps with great prizes
Free camping at the pub
Hot food, cold drinks, and plenty of laughter
Live music running into the night
The first race kicking off at 1 pm
$10 entry donation (kids free)
Whether you are there for the racing, the music, or just the atmosphere, every ticket and every cheer helps raise funds for Variety, the Children’s Charity, supporting Queensland kids who need it most.
Community and safety go hand in hand, and that is something Blue Dog Training takes seriously. This year, the team will be sharing news about their newest addition, First Aid and CPR courses, rolling out soon across Queensland.
These courses are designed with the same practical, hands-on approach that Blue Dog is known for in its trade training. The goal is simple: to help more Queenslanders feel confident and capable when it counts, whether that is on site, at school, or at home.
The Sandy Creek Pig Races are more than just an event. They are a reminder of what community really means. A bit of fun, a bit of friendly competition, and a lot of heart.
Blue Dog Training is proud to be part of it again in 2025 and cannot wait to see familiar faces, meet new ones, and cheer on the pigs for another great cause.
